Our little one Sarah Keith born at 26 weeks is now almost 5 1/2 years old. She is doing good with a few lingering problems still. She is now in Kindergarten and for now is doing okay in school. She is being closely monitored by her teacher and the special education teacher for problems. She struggled in preschool last year and they are concerned that the second half of Kindergarten is when she is going to start to fall behind. After a year and a half in school she still has trouble with writing her name. We are prepared to do a Kindergarten repeat if necessary. Sarah has also been having major nosebleeds. She has had them since a year old but only about twice a year. A couple of weeks ago she had 5 major nosebleeds in 5 days. Next time the doctor will cautherize. Sarah just recently had a clinic visit at the Shriner's Hospital in Greenville, S.C. for the mild Cerebral Palsy and to see if she needed a new pair of inserts for her shoes. Sarah still sees her pulmonologist in Roanoke, Va about 2-3 times a year for the BPD. I am also looking in to getting some neuro testing for her because Sarah is going on 6 years old but has a lot of 2-3 year old behavioral issues. She is currently getting physical therapy twice a week, occupational therapy once a week, and speech therapy once a week at school.
