Talked With Angels Teacher
Angel has 2 teachers---1 reg ed teacher who is in the room all the time and 1 special ed who comes in and helps---they went to an autism training program for teachers---they had a sensory seminar there and they were blown away by how much it fit Angel to a T---we of course already knew how bad her SID is and what it effects but it sounded so good to hear how much they "got it" now----they said it even went into detail how SID can effect tone/posture when the child has too much to take in and just exhausted---she said they noticed her tone worsening after they started really buckling down and pushing the kids harder and want to back off of Angel a bit and not push her so hard because now they understand how SID can also effect thought processing and she just needs time to register the intake of the info----asked if wayne and I were ok with them asking the lady from Va tech who gave the SID workshop to come eval Angel at school and give her input/advice---HECK YES---we are so ok with it--just fantastic
I know they understood Angel has SID but since they attended the workshop I think they finally understand how it effects her learning and its not just about movement and aversions--it also feels so good that they "seen" this as an issue and are taking steps to help Angel at school
